Regular Sunday worship
Come and worship with us Face to Face at 10am Sunday mornings. We enjoy uplifting worship worthy of a loving and inclusive God.
Until the beginning of February, our weekly worship services alternate between Ashburton and Burwood. From February, 10am Sunday worship will be located at our Ashburton church, 3 Ashburn Grove. You are very welcome to join us on line. See the weekly pew sheet on the Communications page of this website for links to the worship services.
All are welcome regardless of age, gender, race, or sexual orientation. We particularly welcome faith seekers: anyone who is keen to find meaning and purpose in a topsy-turvy and often contradictory world.
Other Worship
As Christians, we love to celebrate special days and seasons that mark the birth (Christmas) and the resurrection (Easter) of our Lord Jesus. In the run up to Christmas (Advent) we hold a Choral service which is followed by a celebratory BBQ meal and community get togethers.
Lent and Easter are especially sacred. During Holy Week we have a Palm Sunday service, followed later in the week with Shrove Thursday, Good Friday and then Easter Day services.
During 2026 we anticipate adding a new weekly worship service, to accomodate those who find it difficult to join our 10am Sunday worship.
Study and Prayer Groups
Regular groups meet for prayer and reflection on Scripture and integration of faith with life experiences. Our Wednesday morning study group uses the guide "With Love to the World".
During the year we hold special study groups, which concentrate on chosen study material. Lenten Studies, in the run up to Easter are a feature annually.
At Ashburton Burwood Uniting Church we are a prayerful community. We are blessed with our very active Prayer Chain. Prayers are distributed by email weekly, and sometimes special prayers though out the week.
